He doesn't look quite right, but his acting is actually pretty good.
The only exception I can make is the guy who plays Alec Lightwood. They neither look nor act like the book characters and most are just plain poor actors as far as I can tell. The rest of the core cast are even worse. I'll take Collins and her obviously dyed red hair any day. The main character Clary looks ok but comes off just whiny and annoying in a way the book character doesn't, nor did Lily Collins in the movie. They completely threw out the character descriptions from the books, both physical and personality traits. Probably ok for teens who haven't read the books, but as an adult fan of the books, this show makes me cringe. Which Side of History?
